Rapper Gangsta Boo died at 43

Rapper, whose true name was Lola Chantrelle Mitchell, was most known for being a member of the hip-hop group Three 6 Mafia. On Sunday, Jan 1, 2023, her bandmate DJ Paul revealed that she had passed away at home.

'Late Nite Tip' hitmaker's friends and family claimed that she had spent the night with her brother and the two of them had overdosed in the hours following the announcement of her death.

A source told TMZ: "Gangsta was with her brother last night at a local concert in Memphis, and he started to overdose sometime in the night ... requiring hospitalization.”

“While he ended up being okay, people familiar with Gangsta Boo's death scene insist narcotics were found on her person and that a fentanyl-laced substance is believed to be at play. We're told the police are launching an official investigation."

Midway through the 1990s, Gangsta Boo started playing with Three 6 Mafia. She left the group in 2002 to focus on her solo career, and her final studio album, "Enquiring Minds II: The Soap Opera," was released in 2003.
